Scholarship timeline and tips
- Start your application early but submit it only after receiving a conditional or unconditional offer of admission.
- Be aware of the scholarship closing date.
- Include a motivation letter when applying for scholarship:
- Highlight awards, achievements, community involvement and volunteering.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the University of Auckland and express reasons for wanting to study at the University of Auckland.
- What you hope to achieve through studying here.
- Outline future career.
- Explain how the scholarship will contribute to achieving your career objectives.
- Submit a referee letter addressing your character and qualities.
- Apply for multiple scholarships if eligible.
- Check scholarship regulations for eligibility to hold multiple awards from the University of Auckland or external funders.

Who is eligible?
- Be a new international student at the University of Auckland.
- Be a new English Language Academy (ELA) or Summer Start International student with a conditional or unconditional offer of admission.
- Enrol full-time in an undergraduate programme, Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip), master's degree at the University of Auckland.
University of Auckland India High Achievers Scholarship
The University of Auckland India High Achievers Scholarship offers scholarships up to $20,000 towards tuition fees for new international students from India enrolling full-time in undergraduate degrees, PGDip or masters degrees.
University of Auckland ASEAN High Achievers Scholarship
This scholarship offers up to $10,000 towards tuition fees for new international students from ASEAN countries enrolling in full-time in undergraduate degrees, PGDip or masters degrees.
University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship
A scholarship of up to $10,000 towards tuition fees for new international students undertaking full-time study in undergraduate degrees, PGDip or masters degrees (gaining University admission with overseas secondary or post-secondary qualifications).
University of Auckland International School Leaver Scholarship
A scholarship of up to $20,000 towards tuition fees for international students who have attended a New Zealand secondary school or kura and who are enrolling in the first year of an undergraduate degree at the University of Auckland.
