Programme overview

By focusing on the development of accurate and reliable geological ground models, you will be well equipped to work within New Zealand’s complex environment and contribute to the projected construction boom. This interfaculty programme, between the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Science, is for students who want to pursue an industry-relevant programme.

You must have completed the Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours), or Bachelor of Science (Honours) with a GPA of 5.0 or higher in 75 points at Stage III in Earth Sciences, or a related subject such as Geology.

OR

You must have completed the Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) with a GPA of 5.0 or higher in 120 points at Stage III.

OR

You must have completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Science with a GPA of 5.0 or higher in 75 points at Stage III in Earth Sciences including at least 45 points in Geology.

OR

You must have completed an undergraduate degree in Science or Engineering with a GPA of 4.0 or higher in 75 points at Stage III and have completed three years of relevant work experience as approved by the Dean of Science.

Fees are set in advance of each calendar year and will be updated on this website. Fees are inclusive of 15% GST, but do not include the Student Services Fee, course books, travel and health insurance, or living costs. Amounts shown are indicative only. In addition to the tuition fees, there is a Student Services Fee of $8.88 per point, estimated at $1,065.60 for full-time study (120 points). Fees will be confirmed upon completion of enrolment into courses.
