Doctoral Entrepreneurial Leadership Award
An Award for doctoral students enrolling in the Doctoral Entrepreneurial Leadership Programme.
Fatu Feu’u Pacific Arts Prize
The Prize has been established by Felicity Barnes and Michael Whitehead to recognise and honour Fatu Feu’u and his role as a leader in the Pacific arts community.
Fatu Feu’u is an internationally recognised sculptor, printmaker, painter and ceramic artist who has created and exhibited Pacific art for more than four decades.
He is an Honorary Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for his services to art and, in 2022, he received the Icon Award from the Arts Foundation Te Tumu Toi for his outstanding contribution to art and his role as a leader within the Pacific arts community.
The main purpose of the Prize is to reward excellence in creative practice for Pacific students in Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Fine Arts, Screen Production, or Music, who have the potential to have a positive impact on the creative capital of Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific region, based on a holistic view of the student’s practice.

Novatears Dry Eye Prize
A Prize to recognise academic achievement in Part V of the Bachelor of
Optometry in the area of dry eye disease clinical management.
Phoenix Prize for Creative Writing
This Prize, funded by alumni and staff of the Master of Creativing Writing programme, is to recognise the student in the Master of Creative Writing degree at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland who has completed, in the year of the award, a manuscript of high quality with strong potential to succeed commercially. The Prize aims to facilitate the completion of that manuscript towards publication.

Rae de Lisle Piano Prize
This Prize celebrates the work of Associate Professor Rae de Lisle, MNZM, PhD, who taught at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland for over 25 years. The Prize was subscribed to by staff, students and members of the general public, and was launched with a celebratory concert on 30 April 2023.
The main purpose of the Prize is to reward and recognise excellence in the study of piano at undergraduate level in the School of Music at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.
Steel Rollformed Products Ltd Prize
The Prize s funded by Steel Rollformed Products Ltd, a New Zealand owned and operated family business that supplies quality steel components to the New Zealand building industry.
The main purpose of the Prize is to reward and recognise academic excellence in ARCHTECH 207 and ARCHTECH 210.

Fred Doolin Education Scholarship
The Scholarship has been established by Gerard Doolin in memory of his father, Fred Doolin.
Fred Doolin was born in Dover, England, into a poor but loving family. Despite achieving an academic scholarship for secondary school, family circumstances meant that he began working at the age of 13, and enlisted in the Royal Navy at age 19. Following World War Two, he and his younger brother Ted emigrated to New Zealand, where he worked for the Railways and completed his secondary school education, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in English and History at the University of Auckland.
Following his marriage to Anne Scanlan, and while raising their children, he went on to complete an MA in History at the University of Auckland, writing a thesis on the USSR constitution, supervised by the late Professor Keith Sinclair. He then completed teacher training and taught at Avondale Primary School and Westlake High School, before becoming a lecturer in English and History, and later Principal Lecturer (English and History) Division B Lead, at the Epsom Teacher's College.
Fred passed away at the age of 88 in 2011, having lived a life centered around strong core values, and an acute awareness and knowledge of social inequity both locally and internationally.
The main purpose of the Scholarship is to support students undertaking an undergraduate degree or diploma in Education who have demonstrated the potential to succeed but are experiencing hardships or who may have been disadvantaged due to their personal financial circumstances, in the hope that they will follow in the legacy of Fred Doolin, whose life story demonstrates the value of education and the vocation of teaching.
Whakaeke Tāmaki MinterEllisonRuddWatts First in Whānau Award
The Award is funded by MinterEllisonRuddWatts (MERW), a top tier New Zealand Law firm. This Award is part of the MERW Award Programme, Ngā Karahipi Whakaeke. Whakaeke means to enable arrival, as we hope to support more Māori students through their law studies and achieve their goals.
The main purpose of the Award is to encourage greater diversity in the law profession by providing financial assistance and pastoral support to Māori law students who are the first member of their whānau tonu (immediate family) to enrol in an LLB and/or the first in their whānau tonu attend university.

Auckland Library Heritage Trust John Stacpoole Summer Scholarship
The Scholarship has been established by the Auckland Library Heritage Trust in recognition of foundation trustee John Stacpoole and his significant financial contributions and years of service on the Trust. He was a New Zealand heritage architect, historian and bibliophile who was responsible for the preservation and restoration of many historic buildings in Auckland and Northland.
The main purpose of the Scholarship is to give current international and domestic university students an opportunity to experience research in aspects of Auckland history, and to thereby encourage them to pursue postgraduate study at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland, and to promote the heritage collections under the guardianship of the Trust and advance the study of Auckland history.
Faculty of Education and Social Work Doctoral Fees Bursary
The main purpose of the Bursary is to provide support towards doctoral study in the Faculty of Education and Social Work at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.
PMA Knowledge Hub Summer Research Scholarship
The Pasifika Medical Association (PMA), supported by the Office of the Associate Dean Pacific, the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, has established this Scholarship to support Pacific students and research that seeks to improve Pacific peoples’ health and social wellbeing outcomes by giving international and domestic Pacific students currently enrolled at a New Zealand university an opportunity to experience research, and to thereby encourage them to pursue postgraduate study at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.

Lucy Ullrich Memorial Scholarship in Urban Design
This Scholarship has been established by Alex and Simon Worker, in memory of their mother Lucy Ullrich, who was an alumna of the School of Architecture and Planning. Lucy was passionate about urban design and recognised the need for women working in urban design to be supported in their studies and their career.
The intention of the Scholarship is to encourage and support a woman student who is undertaking a Master of Urban Design at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.

Alan Maxwell Science PhD Scholarship
The Scholarship has been established by a bequest from the estate of Alan Maxwell to encourage and support academically excellent domestic, and international students who are paying domestic fees, to undertake a PhD in Physics, Computer Science or Mathematics in the Faculty of Science at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.
Dr Bruce Goodfellow Postgraduate Award
The Award has been established by the Goodfellow Foundation to commemorate the late Dr Bruce Goodfellow, former Chairman of the Goodfellow Foundation, who wished to inspire younger general practitioners and trainees to see the pleasure and value in further academic study in primary care.
The intention of the Award is to encourage and support general practitioners and registrars to undertake postgraduate study in the School of Population Health at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.
Dr William Bruce Goodfellow Award for Primary Care Nursing
The Award has been established by the Goodfellow Foundation to commemorate the late Dr William Bruce Goodfellow, an alumnus of Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.
The intention of the Award is to encourage and support primary care nursing students at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland to undertake and complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences, specialising in Advanced Nursing, and/or a Master of Nursing programme.
Marie Pearman Educational Leadership Scholarship
The Scholarship was established by the estate of Marie Pearman, an alumna of Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland who worked as a secondary school teacher and subsequently for the Monte Cecelia Trust.
The intention of the Scholarship is to encourage and support students, particularly those who have demonstrated the potential to succeed but who are experiencing hardship or who may have been disadvantaged due to their personal circumstances, to undertake postgraduate study or research at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland related to educational leadership.

Edmund Crampin Bioengineering Masters Scholarship
The Auckland Bioengineering Institute (ABI) has established this Scholarship in memory of the late Professor Edmund Crampin.
The main purpose of the Scholarship is to encourage and support students to undertake a research masters degree in the Auckland Bioengineering Institute. The Scholarship aims to support students pursuing research projects related to systems biology, cellular systems modelling, and multi-scale modelling of cell-to-organ scale function.
Jonathan Mane-Wheoki Fine Arts Award for Māori and Pacific Students
The Award is funded by Paul Bushnell in memory of his partner Jonathan Mane-Wheoki, who was a pioneering researcher and writer in the field of Māori and Pacific art, and a powerful mentor for upcoming Māori and Pacific artists at Elam. The Award recognises the practical encouragement and support he both received in his early career, and generously provided as a teacher, colleague, researcher, writer, and friend.
The main purpose of the Award is to support a Māori student or a Pacific student enrolled in the first year of a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Elam School of Fine Arts, at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.
Marcus Gerbich Memorial Honours/Masters Scholarship in Motor Neuron Disease Research
The Scholarship was established by friends and family of Marcus Gerbich, a significant supporter of the research undertaken by the Motor Neuron Disease Lab in the Centre for Brain Research and is funded by the Transportation Auckland Corporation Limited.
The intention of the Scholarship is to encourage and support students enrolled at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland to undertake research related to Motor Neuron Disease.
The Marie Clay Literacy Trust Trainer Doctoral Scholarship
The Scholarship was established by The Marie Clay Literacy Trust to support an international or domestic PhD student or domestic EdD student in the Faculty of Education and Social Work at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland undertaking research related to Reading Recovery.
Master of Design Diversity Award
This Award has been established to encourage Waipapa Taumata, University of Auckland Master of Design students from diverse backgrounds to take their passion for design to make changes for the benefit of society.
Seth and Flavia Rankin MBChB First in Family Scholarship
The Scholarship has been established by Seth and Flavia Rankin to assist an MBChB student who is the first member of their immediate family to attend university and who, because of financial hardship, may not otherwise be able to undertake a university degree.Seth Rankin studied Medicine at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.
Victoria League Nursing Doctoral Fees Award
The Victoria League (Auckland) Charitable Trust has established this award to assist registered nurses undertaking doctoral study at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland with the cost of tuition fees.
