International connections
Auckland Law School is a globally connected law school with partners in every part of the world. We offer a rich array of international opportunities to our staff and students, and warmly welcome visitors from around the world.
A key example of our international connections is our partnership with Cambridge University. This partnership involves:
- a student exchange, which enables Auckland Law School students to study for a year of their undergraduate degree at Cambridge;
- a staff exchange, which enables a Law School academic to be a visiting scholar at Cambridge and for a Cambridge academic to be a visiting scholar here in Aotearoa New Zealand. The exchange agreement fosters strong research relationships and collaborations between the two Universities;
- a pathways programme that allows high achieving undergraduate law students from Auckland Law School to begin a Master’s degree at Cambridge University in the final semester of their undergraduate degree.
Beyond our partnership with Cambridge, Auckland Law School has many other international relationships. For students, our international affiliations provide opportunities to undertake a student exchange in over 30 law schools across the world.
We also offer a student exchange at the Centre for Transnational Legal Studies in London which is a one-of-its-kind global partnership in legal education.
In addition Auckland Law School students regularly undertake internships in countries around the world with two prestigious internships offered with Capitol Hill in Washington and The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Geneva.
Our students also frequently participate in a wide array of mooting, mediation and other law competitions around the world.
For academics, Auckland Law School welcomes visiting scholars from around the world to participate in the research environment and academic life of our law school.
