Student email
All University students have a free student email account hosted on Gmail.
Your student email account activates approximately 24 hours after you enrol in your first course.
You should check your student email regularly for important communications from the University, including Canvas announcements.
Accessing your emails
There are three ways to access your student email:
- Use the direct link http://mail.aucklanduni.ac.nz/.
- Visit the University of Auckland homepage, select 'Ngā Tauira/Students' from the main navigation bar and click 'Student email'.
- Enter your University email address and password from the Gmail homepage.
Note: you may be directed to single-sign-on as part of logging in.
If you prefer to use an alternative email address, you will need to set up email forwarding.
Your student email account will still be available to you after graduation. This is conditional on you removing all content present in Google Photos. To recover any storage you are using in Google Photos the University is forced to delete your entire Google account. We really don't want to do this, so ensure your photos are empty when you leave.
