How to request your certified digital transcript or official letter
Important
If you're applying for an official Confirmation of Current Enrolment Letter, you must pay all your tuition fees before applying for your letter.
If you apply and have not paid your fees, this will delay the release of your letter. This is because payment is required to receive this letter.
Before you request
Check if you are eligible for a free digital transcript, using the My eQuals - Certified digital documents guide:
-
My eQuals - certified digital documents. Size: 156.8 kB.
Document Description: Information about certified digital documents and how to access them.
The payment function requires an up-to-date browser. You can check if your browser is compatible via this link: https://sec.paymentexpress.com/pxmi3/tlscheck
If your browser does not pass, please update it before making your order.
Once processing of your request for a certified digital transcript or official letter has begun, it is no longer possible for you to change your mind and request a refund.*
*Ensure you have paid all your tuition fees before applying for a Confirmation of Current Enrolment Letter.
Please note that the University has a $60 refund processing fee that applies to all refunds, and which you would incur in this case. For further information, see the University of Auckland Calendar.
How to request your certified digital document online
Before ordering a digital transcript and/or letter, please check your unofficial transcript on Student Services Online. This is to ensure all your grades are showing correctly and that your programme status is as expected.
You should also check that you have no holds on your account as these may prevent the processing of your request. See your Fees Statement.
When you're ready to order your official document, please follow the steps below:
- Log onto Student Services Online and click on the 'Request Official Document' tile. This will take you to our online order form.
- Once you have filled out the details required, you will be able to pay for your digital document online with a credit card or account2account internet banking through Payment Express.
- If you receive a message that your order was unsuccessful or similar, do not create a new order. Check your bank account first as the payment may have already been deducted. If your payment has gone out of your account but have now received confirmation of your order, please email records@auckland.ac.nz and we will check that we can see your order.
Processing and delivery times
Transcripts or letters take between five to seven working days to process.
Your documents will be released to My eQuals after five to seven working days after 3pm.
Please note: If you are requesting a transcript that will contain records originating with the Auckland College of Education or its predecessors or from the University of Auckland prior to 1982, please allow 10 business days for your request to be processed.

An official letter confirms specific information without providing the same details regarding courses and grades.
The official University of Auckland seal appears on both a certified digital transcript and a certified digital official letter.
From April 2017, only certified digital documents are available to be requested. Hard copy documents are no longer available.
