Women in Law has been operating for two years and has proved themselves as a vital component of the Faculty in the current era of equality, openness and demand for accountability. With a burgeoning membership base, the club has focused on raising awareness, challenging the status quo, and celebrating successes with a wide variety of initiatives including everything from Pink Ribbon Breakfasts, talks with prominent speakers and forming an Equity Council.

Ultimate has been run with unwavering focus and spirit this year, progressing players from novices to high performers. Twenty eight members were selected to represent NZ at the U24 level, and teams took out gold and third place at the recent University Championships.

FSA's love of Filipino culture can be seen in their movie nights showcasing life in the Philippines, their traditional folk dancing troupe, the social media campaign #FilipiKnow, and by fund raising for those in need in the Philippines. They also share their culture through public events such as ASEAN Week and their own band.

Hugo was responsible for managing a complex mix of financial pressures, balancing the ongoing costs of maintaining a large asset, and the managing the costs associated with being on the mountain. He’s ensured accurate budgeting and demonstrated his time management skills with a constant flow of payments and refunds to be allocated throughout the season. Hugo has been dedicated and proactive, and his financial successes will see the club well into future years.

The most visible event this year for the club, on the freedom of speech, highlighted Chris’ perseverance, professionalism and his exceptional effort. He is a credit to the University.
