Network partners
The University is a member of three international networks of research-led universities — Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU), Universitas 21 (U21) and Worldwide Universities Network (WUN). These provide a strong platform for collaborative research for the University.

Association of Pacific Rim Universities
As the only network of leading universities linking the Americas, Asia and Australasia, the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) is the Voice of Knowledge and Innovation for the Asia-Pacific region. We bring together thought leaders, researchers, and policy-makers to exchange ideas and collaborate on effective
solutions to the challenges of the 21st century.
Academic and Professional staff members may apply to International Central Networks and Partnerships Grant (ICNPG) for mobility support to undertake activities with APRU partners.
There are also opportunities for students to attend conferences and summer schools. For further information, visit 360 International.
Universitas 21
Universitas 21 (U21) is the leading global network of research-intensive universities, working together to foster global citizenship and institutional innovation through research-inspired teaching and learning, student mobility, connecting our students and staff, and wider advocacy for internationalisation.
Established in 1997, U21 is capable of achieving the kind of practical outcomes that none of the individual members would be able to achieve independently or through traditional bilateral alliances. The aim of U21 is to facilitate interchange between members. It provides a framework for international collaboration, capitalising on the established reputation and operational reach of each of its members.
Academic and Professional staff members may apply to International Central Networks and Partnerships Grant (ICNPG) for mobility support to undertake activities with U21 partners.
There are also opportunities for students to attend conferences and summer schools. For further information, visit 360 International.
Worldwide Universities Network
The Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) is an international university network focused primarily on research collaboration, postgraduate education and research funding. WUN comprises leading research universities committed to bringing their collective capability to bear on some of the major issues facing humankind. Its mission is to be one of the leading international Higher Education networks, collaborating to accelerate the creation of knowledge and to develop research leaders who will be prepared to address the significant challenges, and opportunities, of our rapidly changing world. The organisation uses the combined resources and intellectual power of its membership to achieve collective international objectives and to stretch international ambitions.
Currently, WUN has over 90 research initiatives in its portfolio. More than 750 research faculty are active in these initiatives with many more taking part in conferences, workshops and virtual seminars.
Many of WUN’s initiatives encourage the participation of postgraduates either through organised activities targeting early stage researchers or by providing postgraduates with tools to enable them to establish their own networks in a virtual environment.
Academic and Professional staff members may apply to International Central Networks and Partnerships Grant (ICNPG) for mobility support to undertake activities with WUN partners. Academic staff may also apply for the annual WUN Research Development Fund.
