Request for Late Application to Graduate

You are unable to apply late for graduation.

Once applications close, you will need to wait for the next opportunity to graduate in-person or apply for a Council graduation.

Regalia

Before graduation, you will need to book your regalia. Your regalia refers to the formal attire used during graduation.

For more information, please see the What to wear page

If you're graduating from more than one qualification

Same faculty

If you’re graduating in person with more than one qualification within the same faculty, the highest qualification will only be announced at the ceremony.

You will receive all certificates at the same time.

For example, if you graduate from a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts. Both qualifications are from the Faculty of Arts.

Conjoint degrees

Conjoint degrees will be awarded in person at only one ceremony.

You choose which faculty ceremony you wish to attend. You will need to wear the hood for that faculty.

Both qualifications will be announced at the ceremony.

For example, if you graduate from a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts conjoint, you can choose either to go to the Science graduation ceremony or the Arts graduation ceremony.

Multiple qualifications from different faculties

Multiple qualifications from different faculties which are not conjoint degrees may be awarded at separate ceremonies.

In this case you can choose to graduate in person and/or in absentia for each.

For example, if you have completed a Bachelor of Arts and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary). One qualification is from the Faculty of Arts, the other from the Faculty of Education and Social Work.

Your name

You must graduate under your official name that is on your official university record.

If you have changed your name, you can request for your name to be changed on your official university record before the graduation application closing date.

For more information about the process of changing your name, please see Changing your name on your university record

Special characters

If your name has special characters, you will need to advise the Graduation Office as soon as possible to ensure these characters are correctly reflected on your certificate.*
