Business School Women's Mentoring Programme

Will you help us support the next generation of female business leaders?

Women business students in their penultimate or final year of an undergraduate degree are matched with women working in business for a 7-month mentoring programme, to help them develop valuable skills, broaden their networks, gain confidence and learn the best way to transition from university to working life. Mentors and mentees meet regularly, alongside monthly events and workshops tackling issues women might face in the workplace.

Cecilia Tarrant (BA/LLB ’84), Chancellor of the University, and Executive-in-Residence at the Business School, has been driving the programme since its inception in 2011. Since then, nearly 800 students, and almost 500 women in business have participated in the programme, with every year now seeing close to 80 mentor/mentee pairs starting out on their mentoring journey. Previous mentees from the early years are now returning as mentors, and special relationships and connections continue to grow, with many mentors signing up year after year. In 2020, we celebrated the tenth year of the programme!

The Business School is committed to nurturing our talent and believes in the benefits of mentoring young minds. Help us ensure the continuation of this worthwhile programme, so that we can keep supporting our women business students well into the future.
