We monitor the carbon emissions resulting from Waipapa Taumata Rau’s operations, with over thirty measures including purchased energy, fuel consumption, waste, and work-related travel. We also consider the emissions from the air travel our international students undertake when they choose to study with us in Aotearoa.

ISO14064-1:2018

We record these emissions in the Greenhouse Gas Inventory following international standards ISO14064-1:2018 and once externally verified, we publish the full reports. 

This information then helps us identify effective carbon reduction opportunities and include them in the Sustainable Estate and Operations Plan. This is how we track progress against the University's Net Zero Carbon targets.
