Speaker: Dr Thomas Scelo – Owner, Acoustic Research & Design

Born in France and with a passion for music, Thomas arrived in New Zealand to begin his doctorate as a result of an invitation from George Dodd, Professor of Acoustics at the University of Auckland, who he met while completing his Masters in Physics in France.

Now with over 20 years’ experience in architectural acoustics, Thomas is a specialist in acoustic design for performing arts and cultural buildings. He has worked in New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, China and Europe on more than 60 performing arts venues.

Recognising the role mentorship played in the success of his career, Thomas is keen to share the same passion and values with students and younger colleagues.

MC: Dr Michael Lee – Associate Professor of Marketing, Director of MBA and Assistant Dean of Professional Programs at The University of Auckland.

With extensive experience in tertiary education and real-world engagement, Mike has taught marketing strategy, marketing research, consumer behaviour, advertising and promotions, and advanced marketing theory to more than 5000 students.

At a broader level, Mike acts as an expert witness for legal proceedings and has provided expert commentary in more than 400 media engagements.
