Get fresh, group outdoor activities – flag football

On a sunny Friday afternoon, PhD students from the Richard Tinning Research Unit gathered at Albert Park for the inaugural game of their new outdoor activity series: flag football. This event begins a series of outdoor activities to balance doctoral studies with recreation and relaxation.

Laughter and shouts of encouragement filled the air, setting the tone for a day of friendly competition and teamwork. For many students, it was their first time playing flag football, adding an element of excitement and novelty to the
experience.

“Flag football is a fantastic way to get everyone involved, regardless of their athletic ability or experience,” said a PhD student specialising in health education. “The rules are simple, and it's all about having fun and supporting each other.”
As we look forward to future events, our focus will continue to be on inclusivity, fun, and fostering a supportive community.
