EDSW PhD graduate achieves remarkable feat
PhD graduate Lin Sophie Teng Listed in Top 2% Most-Cited Scholars in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics in China.
Our own proud graduate, Lin Sophie Teng, PhD in Education, has achieved a remarkable feat as No. 1 of the list in the top 2% of the most-cited scholars in the domains of Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, or Language Education among all linguistics scholars based in China.
Dr Teng was supervised to completion in 2016 by Professors Lawrence Zhang and Martin East, (both from the Faculty of Education and Social Work then), and is currently a Professor at the Department of Linguistics of Zhejiang University, a university ranked in the top five among all Chinese universities.
Dr Teng's contribution to the academic landscape has garnered recognition both nationally and internationally, solidifying her position as a leading expert in the field through her work, either co-authored with Lawrence Zhang or sole-authored, appear in leading journals such as The Modern Language Journal (Wiley), Applied Linguistics (Oxford), System (Elsevier), Language Teaching Research (Sage), among others.
Her impact on the field is evident through her extensive publication record in reputable academic journals and her participation in influential conferences and seminars.
Her work has not only expanded the theoretical frameworks of applied linguistics but has also provided valuable insights into the practical implications of language studies.
