Helen Lee - BA Education
The Bachelor of Arts Education major has been the perfect option for Helen to achieve her goal of becoming an educational psychologist.
“In my first year, I struggled deciding my future career. I knew that I wanted to work with kids and I am a big advocate for mental health so, I considered Psychology and Educational Psychology. I changed one of my majors to Education and became passionate about becoming an Educational Psychologist.
“During this programme, I have thoroughly enjoyed going to the tutorials as my tutors are always so helpful and willing to make the learning enjoyable. In tutorials you also get to meet many students from different backgrounds and disciplines which has helped widen my perspectives of social issues.
“Once I graduate, I would love to extend my studies at a postgraduate level in areas like social development, cognitive and language development, educational psychology, and developmental cognitive neuroscience.
“In ten years, I hope to be an Educational or Developmental Psychologist so I can help children reach their full ability at school.
“I would recommend studying this programme because there are so many Education courses
which will help you understand how we learn and develop. Many of these courses incorporate job placements which helps you implement everything you’ve learned in your coursework.
“University is a place where you explore and try new things and Education is the place to start, as the professors and tutors really care for your learning and mental health.”
