Teacher Education in Schools - Primary

Fees free study, the ability to learn in a real classroom and a $12,500 stipend!

Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland has been selected as a provider for a limited number of Scholarships for students wishing to study the Online Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Primary) as part of the Teacher Education in Schools Programme (an initiative supported by The Ministry of Education under the School Onsite Training Programme).

If you wish to be considered for the Teacher Education in Schools Programme 2025, you must have applied for the Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Primary) Online programme before 31 October 2024.

This is an opportunity to gain a top teaching qualification in just one yearwith your study fees covered, plus a $12,500 stipend to support your living costs during your study.Participants spend three days a week embedded in a host Primary school,where they experience day-to-day school life, while simultaneouslycompleting their Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Primary) online.

The programme offers the flexibility of online learning with the benefitsof being part of a school community, learning alongside experiencedteachers, involvement in school activities, and building knowledge ofeffective teaching practices through observation and participation in theclassroom.

Places are available at schools in Auckland and Tai Tokerau | Northland.
