Sarah Little - Tertiary Foundation Certificate
“The foundation programme gives me insight into what it’s going to be like as a full-time student, as well as the skills I would need to succeed.”
“I wanted to study teaching, but in my last year of high school I didn’t meet the rank score required for admission to the programme. I was devastated, but thankfully staff at the University of Auckland referred me to the one-year Tertiary Foundation Certificate (Education and Social Work pathway), which would prepare me for my bachelors study.
“The foundation programme has been amazing and I couldn't recommend it enough. After being out of school for one year and working full-time, this is definitely a much-needed refresher course. The lecturers are easy to get along with and they really want all students to succeed. My classmates are supportive and we get along very well. It’s a great environment to learn!
“Having a University of Auckland campus for Whangārei students is awesome. This means I could have the comfort of studying in my hometown.
“The foundation programme gives me insight into what it’s going to be like as a full-time student and teaches me the basic skills that I would need to succeed in the Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Primary.”
