Wā-sifika Fest kicks off at the Library on 7 August 2024!

Wā-sifika Fest, Wednesday 7th August, Level 1, General Library, 10am-4pm.

In partnership with the Auckland University Pacific Island Student Association (AUPISA) and Ngā Tauira Māori, Te Tumu Herenga | Libraries and Learning Services invite our tauira to this inaugural event designed to reconnect our Māori and Pacific community with the Te Tumu Herenga village.

Wā-sifika Fest has been specifically created as a space for Māori and Pacific students to explore Indigenous teaching and learning methods within Te Tumu Herenga | Library and Learning Services.

Immerse yourself in the day’s activities, including:

  • Interactive stations featuring our library collections
  • Cultural workshops (including tivaevae, weaving, and Indigenous storytelling)
  • Cultural performances
  • Food
  • Taonga displays
  • Māori and Pacific career pathways
  • Spot prizes throughout the day
