Inside our biggest collection: The On-Demand Collection

The On-Demand Collection gives you access to over 1.3 million items, with most physical requests in your hands within 48 hours.

With more than 1.3 million items, the On-Demand Collection (ODC) houses over 70% of Te Tumu Herenga | Libraries and Learning Services’ physical and digital collections off-campus in East Tāmaki. The ODC frees up library space for new collection materials, exhibitions and student spaces (such as study rooms, hubs and ReoSpace).

The small team at the ODC process around 250 item requests a week. They dispatch to and receive items from Libraries and Information Commons across all our campuses, from Te Papa Ako o Tai Tokerau in Whangarei to Te Papa Ako o Tai Tonga in Manukau.

Whilst browsing in person isn’t available, the ODC team can process and deliver most requests for electronic and physical items in around two working days*.
