Summer Stays 2024-2025 booking now open
If you're seeking accommodation for a large group, Summer Stays is now open for bookings for stays between 24 November 2024, and 9 February 2025.
Summer Stays provides affordable options for group stays by repurposing vacant student accommodations for commercial use during the summer months. Last year, they have welcomed 67 different groups, totalling 2,780 guests.
Among the Summer Stays customers are University of Auckland staff members who have made reservations for their conference attendees, sports squads, academic groups and more.
One such customer is Nina Zhang from the Confucius Institute, who was the inaugural summer guest at Waipārūrū Hall when it opened in December 2020. Nina shared her positive experience, noting that in February 2023 and February 2024, they arranged accommodations for 48 Mandarin language teachers who were new to New Zealand.
“The feedback from these high school students and our Mandarin teachers was very positive.
