Aileen Liu standing against a brick wall

I am applying for Student Representative for Council election because I am passionate about contributing to the University in areas of teaching and research. I first became interested in these while earning my Postgraduate Diploma at the university. My eagerness to learn and try new methods saw me quickly progress through the university. As I moved from simple research and administrative tasks to assisting with the creative process, my passion grew I feel I am ready to take the next step in my career and feel reflecting the diversity of the community served would help me succeed in the position. I also appreciate that the university offers online classes and micro-credentials. These options would help me devote the time I need to excel academically without compromising my performance, I respect the University of Auckland’s reputation for excellence and commitment to career development. I believe it would be a stimulating learning environment and a place where I could connect with several like-minded students. My passion for learning and my exceptional academic and professional record would make me an asset to the university.
