Using images in class or on Canvas
Remain copyright-compliant in your use of images and diagrams
While the use of Talis reading lists is the best way to provide students with copyright-compliant online access to course reading list materials, there are other scenarios where you make and distribute copies of images and diagrams for teaching purposes.
Copyright may belong to staff members or the University
If you are using images and diagrams created by employees of the University in the course of their employment, copyright in the content may belong to either the individual staff member or the University. Check the Intellectual Property Created by Staff and Students Policy.
If your course is publicly visible, different rules apply
If your Canvas course or syllabus page is publicly visible, all images and other content must be licensed for this use or be out of copyright.
