The Ngā Tira programme
Helping the University get the most out of it's Microsoft 365 applications with improved productivity and collaboration.
What is Ngā Tira?
Ngā Tira is a multi-year programme of work with the primary goal for the University to get the most benefit from it's Microsoft 365 licensing. The programme is run by Connect and has been focussing on onboarding and supporting staff using Teams and SharePoint Online. It has also migrated staff mailboxes to Exchange Online.
What is coming?
May 2021 Update
The onboarding of staff and migration of mailboxes has now completed. We are working with a number of academics and courses to use Microsoft Teams in a teaching and learning environment as a tool supporting Canvas, rather than replacing it. We're now planning launching Microsoft Teams for students at the start of Semester 2.
We will be working to encourage the use of OneDrive as a more flexible alternative to University-provided home drives.
