2024/25 Remote global internship programmes

Remote global internship programmes are unpaid, but similar to standard internships in terms of roles and responsibilities. The main difference is that they are completed virtually rather than in a physical office environment, and provide full support with job placement, and wrap-around support and development opportunities. The internship organisations are overseas, rather than based in New Zealand, giving you the benefit of international work experience and global networks.

We are working with three different internship providers this year to bring you our 2024/25 remote global internship programmes: Pagoda Projects, Think Pacific, and Virtual Internships.

You will not get paid for this internship. The standard programme fee for the service provided by the internship providers is up to $1200 NZD, and the University of Auckland will cover the total cost of this, less a small student contribution fee.

If your application is successful, you will be required to pay a non-refundable contribution fee of:

• $120 NZD - Pagoda Projects
• £50 (approx. $110 NZD) - Think Pacific
• £55 (approx. $120 NZD) - Virtual Internships

This fee will be paid to the programme provider, confirming your place on the programme. You will also sign a contract before commencing your internship. The University of Auckland will then cover the remaining portion of your internship programme fee.
