Department consent

Department consent may be required to ensure that you have the relevant background to succeed in the course specifically. You may be asked for greater clarity on previous study, especially if it is from overseas institutions. This concession may also be required in order to secure appropriate supervision.

Before applying to enrol in the course, check the requirements information available through Search Course Outlines.

Concession requests will be assessed based on departmental requirements on a case-by-case basis. These requests often take longer than other concession requests.

For a guide of how to submit a concession request, see How to apply for an enrolment concession.

Department consent, approval or permission number means that individual approval is required from the department or school to enrol in the course. This is often required for research, placement, or internship courses.
