Safety check - clinical programmes
If you're studying a clinical programme, you must pass a safety check to be able to work with children. The requirement for this has already been completed as part of your application to your chosen clinical programme.
This is a requirement of the Children's Act 2014, which is a law put in place to protect children in Aotearoa New Zealand.
You may not be able to continue in your programme if you're:
- Found to have been convicted of a specified offence, as listed in Schedule 2 of the Children's Act 2014
- Otherwise assessed to post an undue risk to the safety of children
