Sari completed her PhD in Education at the Faculty of Education and Social Work. She chose to study at the University of Auckland because it is world-ranked university and her faculty is ranked in the world's top 50.
Sari currently works at a university in Malang, East Java as a full-time Lecturer in the Department of English - Faculty of Letters, and concurrently as Manager of its Office of International Affairs.
As a PhD student, Sari received a scholarship as well as job assistance within the faculty and found the people she worked with to be considerate and kind. She says the support of her supervisors, faculty staff and her friends have helped her grow as a person and as an academic.
“What I loved most about my experience studying at the University of Auckland was working with professional and supportive PhD supervisors. They were always available for discussions and provided me with the best advice.” Sari says.
Sari also enjoyed living in Auckland and exploring the landscape ‘from beaches to highlands where you can see the whole city.’ She particularly enjoyed spending time at the beach in the summer and visiting the city’s many parks year-round with her children and family.
