Fernando Salvador Francisco
Aspiring filmmaker Fernando came to New Zealand to learn more about the growing industry!
The rising film industry in New Zealand made the country the perfect place to study. I was also interested in learning how the country is reacting to this rise, and how its higher education systems help it flourish for the next wave of Kiwi filmmakers. It got me curious to know how this top rated school teaches film – in theory and in practice.
My Māori 130 course has given me a lot of history on NZ and indigenous culture, and my film theory courses have given me a larger worldwide perspective.
As an aspiring filmmaker, it is important for me to learn about the international community, gain different perspectives, and experience how to live and act more independently.
