My postgraduate experience
“The Global Management and Innovation major allowed me to further my interest in International Business and positions me to research modern slavery, which is something I
am passionate about.
“It’s easy to think of your time at university as preparation years for when the ‘real work’
begins, but I encourage everyone to get involved, ask lots of questions, stop caring so much about what others think of you, and take responsibility and initiative in your studies. Also, remember why you are studying!”
“The support from my supervisor for my thesis has been exceptional.”
“My advice is to make the most of the expertise of your lecturers. The classes are smaller
and often have more space for discussion, so lecturers have time to answer your questions.

“I loved the opportunities to engage with the cohort and build a network of not only colleagues but friends. Despite the restrictions brought on by Covid-19, I believe the online learning experience and its challenges brought us together and helped us build resilience.”
“I would really like to work more in the area of modern slavery, helping firms understand
the role they play in addressing such an issue. Long-term, I would like to work as a private
consultant.”
Benjamin is a recipient of the Kupe Leadership Scholarship.
