Watch our Tōia ki Waipapa students share their stories
Learn how taking part in Tōia ki Waipapa over summer helped our students to kick-start their success.
Te Taiata o Te Rangi
Te Taiata o Te Rangi grew up in Te Teko where she attended Edgecumbe College. After getting a call from her Uncle about the opportunities she would have by getting a kickstart to go to University, she decided this would be an awesome way for her to navigate her way through things before semester started and make some new friends.
Tiana Suifua
Tiana has whakapapa links to Ngāti Kuri and Samoa and, as an ex-student of Ngā Puna O Waiōrea, decided to stay close to home and complete Tōia ki Waipapa over the summer. She talks to us about her experience and also the benefits of an early transition.
Kaharau Baker-Jones
Kaharau has whakapapa links to Ngāpuhi and Ngāruahine and was looking for a way to connect with his culture as a huge portion of his life was spent in Australia. He attended Orewa College and speaks to us about his experience with Tōia ki Waipapa.
