What TFC grades do I need?

The Tertiary Foundation Certificate ends with a beginning. Upon successful completion, you'll be ready to apply for entry to a bachelors programme. Here are the TFC grades you will need for guaranteed entry.

What score does each Grade Point Average (GPA) represent?

9 = A+
8 = A
7 = A-
6 = B+
5 = B
4 = B-
3 = C+
2 = C
1 = C-
0 = D+, D, D- or F

Arts

Bachelor of Arts

TFC Arts Pathway: Successful completion with an overall GPA of 2.4

Business

Bachelor of Commerce

TFC Business and Economics Pathway: Successful completion with an overall GPA of 2.5

Bachelor of Property

TFC Business and Economics Pathway: Successful completion with an overall GPA of 2.5

Creative Arts and Industries

Bachelor of Architectural Studies

TFC Arts Pathway: Successful completion with an overall GPA of 4.7

TFC Engineering Pathway: Successful completion with an overall GPA of 4.7

TFC Science Pathway: Successful completion with an overall GPA of 4.7

AND

A B grade in ONE of the following courses:

(For Creative Practice: Classical/Jazz/Popular Music, you will submit your portfolio for qualitative evaluation as part of the selection process. There are no portfolio requirements for the Composition or Music Studies majors.)

TFC Arts Pathway: Successful completion with an overall GPA of 3

Engineering

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)

AND

An A- grade in both TFCMATHS 94F Foundation Mathematics 4 and TFCPHYSICS 92F Foundation Physics 2

Science, Health Sciences and Nursing

Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Health Sciences

Entry requirements vary as follows.

Bachelor of Science general majors require you to pass all eight
courses in your TFC.

Other majors have higher requirements.

  • Food Science and Nutrition requires you to gain a GPA of 3.5
  • Bachelor of Nursing requires you to gain a GPA of 4.0
  • Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science requires you to gain a GPA of 6
  • Bachelor of Health Sciences requires you to gain a GPA of 5.5
