The MProfStuds is a masters degree with a professional focus. It can be a useful way to continue your postgraduate study if you already have a masters degree.

Programme structure

120 points
Advanced taught courses in your chosen specialisation
May include a dissertation, depending on your specialisation
One year full-time or up to two years part-time for a research masters
One year full-time or up to four years part-time for a taught masters
Mathematics Education may be taken as a research masters

You must have completed one of the following:

A four-year bachelors degree
An honours degree
A bachelors degree and a one-year professional qualification or three years’ professional experience relevant to the area that you would like to study.

To enrol in the Education specialisation you need to have at least three years’ teaching experience.
To enrol in the Mathematics Education specialisation you need to have at least three years’ teaching experience and currently hold a teaching position.
To enrol in the Teaching Chinese in Schools specialisation you need to have attained a proficiency level in Chinese of at least HSK Level 5 or equivalent.

You must have completed one of the following:

A four-year bachelors degree

Key dates

1 December start available for 120-point research masters only, subject to supervisor availability.

The Mathematics Education specialisation starts in Summer School.

Please note, for international students, EDUC-T2MPS major/specialisation is exempt from the Semester Two closing date.

Please note: We will consider late applications if places are still available. International students should start the application process as early as possible to allow sufficient time to apply for a visa.
