Executive leadership team

Meet the people in our executive leadership team that lead Auckland Bioengineering Institute. The Executive leadership team also combine with The Academic leadership team to form ABI’s ‘Strategic Planning Group’ to develop future strategic directions to further our growth.

Director

Professor Merryn Tawhai is the Director of the Auckland Bioengineering Institute. She is responsible for academic, administrative and strategic leadership.

Merryn also sits on the University's Senior Management Team (SMT), which is an advisory group to the Vice-Chancellor.

Deputy Director

Professor Martyn Nash is the Deputy Director. He’s responsible for assisting and advising the Director, as well as providing the Principal Investigators group with direction and guidance on administrative and research policy.

Institute Operations Manager

Nina Pettersson-Fox leads the implementation and on-going optimisation of strategy through effective business operations, including managing external and internal relationships and ensuring all administration and professional services are available.
