Research Code of Conduct Policy
Application
All members of the University.
Purpose
This code of conduct seeks to ensure that researchers at the University maintain the highest standards of professional conduct when undertaking and supervising research by outlining the guiding principles and responsibilities along with relevant examples. Breaches of the code may constitute “Misconduct in Research”. The Education Act 1989 protects the academic freedom of academic staff and students to undertake research, but this academic freedom is predicated on the need to maintain the highest ethical standards; the need to permit public scrutiny to ensure maintenance of those standards; and the need for accountability and the proper use of resources.
All researchers at the University are expected to adhere to this code.
