At Elam you’ll be part of an interdisciplinary studio programme, enabling you to work across a variety of media and art forms.

As your level of study progresses, you’ll move from guided learner to independent researcher and creative professional.

You’ll graduate with the skills you’ll need to initiate and sustain a career as an exhibiting artist.

A qualification in fine arts could also provide entry into many other creative occupations, including: artist, teacher, animator, art critic, art curator, art educator, art gallery director, arts writer, commercial photographer, creative director in an agency, film director and set designer.

Undergraduate programmes

Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)

Designed to cater for all creative backgrounds, this multidisciplinary, studio-based programme is suited to those with or without previous experience in an art studio.

Conjoint options:

Postgraduate programmes

Postgraduate Certificate in Fine Arts (PGCertFA)

This programme offers artists entry into Fine Arts study at a postgraduate level, without the requirement of Fine Arts study at an undergraduate level.

Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Arts (PGDipFA)

An introduction to postgraduate study in contemporary art, the PGDipFA is a sound launching platform for in-depth research and exploration of your creative practice.

Master of Fine Arts (MFA)

Develop your independent, research-informed practice in contemporary art in Elam’s vibrant, interdisciplinary environment.

Doctoral study at Elam
