Auckland University Law Students’ Society
The Auckland Law Students’ Society (AULSS) aims to enrich student life at Auckland Law School through a range of events and initiatives. In 2023, AULSS has hosted regular social and sporting events, legal competitions, well-being initiatives and educational workshops. These provide law students with opportunities to grow their skills and build lasting connections that extend beyond the classroom.
In 2023, AULSS hosted its Recruitment Series, providing students with valuable insights and networking opportunities to support their professional growth. The series included panel discussions featuring legal professionals from law firms, aiming to help students make informed decisions about their future legal careers.
AULSS also challenged law students to gain practical experience through participating in client interviewing and negotiation competitions hosted by law firms.
As part of our commitment to student growth and well-being, AULSS organises an annual Wellness Week and Study Series. This year, we supported students as they approached exams by offering course-specific study advice from older students, and free sushi to enjoy as part of a group study session in the Law Café.
As well as spectating sports, AULSS encourages students to engage in various inter-faculty sporting events, and as part of Orientation Week, some students also completed the ‘Round the Bays’ fun run together. These friendly competitions allow law students to showcase their abilities, develop teamwork skills and make connections with students from other faculties.
