LLB Part I Planning
The LLB has a two-part admission process, LLB Part I and LLB Part II.
Typically, LAW 121G is taken in Semester One. If you pass LAW 121G, you will be eligible to progress to LAW 131 and LAW 141 in Semester Two.
Please note that LAW 121G is offered in both Semester One and Two, while LAW 131 and LAW 141 are only offered in Semester Two.
Entry into LLB Part II is calculated on the basis of your LawGPA which is a specially calculated (non-standard) GPA calculated.

LAW 121G is offered in both Semester One and Semester Two each year, while LAW 131 and LAW 141 are available only in Semester Two.
In addition to the three LLB Part I courses, students must enrol in five non-Law courses, totalling 75 points, as part of the foundation for their other bachelor’s degree. This includes one 15-point Waipapa Taumata Rau core course, which must be taken in your first year. The Waipapa Taumata Rau core course can be completed in either Semester One or Semester Two.
If you’re unsure of your programme requirements, contact Student Hubs for degree planning advice.
Please note: Students must be active in the LLB Part I programme to enrol for LAW 131 and 141. These grade requirements may change each year.
