Twenty Years of the Trade Marks Act 2002
The New Zealand Centre for Law and Business at Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland in conjunction with the Legal Research Foundation, is excited to announce a conference to mark twenty years since the Trade Marks Act 2002 came into force. Featuring presentations from trade mark experts from IPONZ, the Bar and leading New Zealand and Australian universities, the conference will consider how well the legislation has operated over the last twenty years.
It will identify and reflect on trends, developments and characteristics of New Zealand trade mark law that have emerged. It will draw comparisons with other jurisdictions, in particular, with how trade mark law has developed in Australia. The conference will use reflections and comparisons to identify potential future directions for New Zealand trade mark law.
Full day catering and closing drinks are included in these tickets.
We would love people to attend in person. However, to cater for those located in Australia or outside of Auckland we are currently investigating offering an online option.
