The PhD in Law programme offers numerous valuable elements, particularly the knowledgeable professors who are leaders in their fields. The abundant library resources and the presence of a worldwide PhD cohort further enrich my academic experience, providing access to diverse perspectives and extensive materials.

So far, my experience as an international student at the University of Auckland has been overwhelmingly positive. The support from my supervisors, support staff, and classmates has been invaluable. The library system is both accessible and powerful, allowing me to efficiently conduct my research.

I joined the fishing club, where I’ve found a friendly community. Our first fishing trip at Whatipu Beach was a delightful experience, and we’re planning to rent a boat for an offshore fishing trip next week.

What I enjoy most about my studies is the conducive learning environment that helps me concentrate. I thrive on absorbing new knowledge and developing original thoughts based on it.

My research centers on cross-border contracts with China, particularly in light of the rising risks in foreign trade, such as geopolitical tensions and intellectual property disputes. For example, the Trade War initiated by Trump has shifted the focus of cross-border trade from globalization to decoupling. This shift reflects a resurgence of Cold War mentality, which threatens constructive economic, technological, and cultural cooperation between the East and West. As China is blocked by America, tens of billions in business and millions of lives are adversely affected. Therefore, it is crucial to investigate these issues from a legal perspective to identify the underlying causes, assist businesses and individuals in improving their circumstances, and advise governments on better policies and laws.

My long-term goal is to pursue a career in teaching and research at a university. I believe that earning a PhD will significantly help me achieve this aspiration.
