As an international student, Gautami faced the typical challenges of adapting to a new educational environment and country. Initially, she was apprehensive about the potential difficulties of studying abroad. One of Gautami’s biggest achievements during her time at the University of Auckland has been her ability to adapt to a new system of learning and internalise the core values of her programme. She takes great pride in her progress and the knowledge she has gained, which has been instrumental in shaping her understanding of the legal field. Learning, for Gautami, has been a constant throughout her life, and she continues to approach her studies with curiosity and dedication.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Gautami works part-time as a Retail Assistant at Wild Wheat Birkenhead in Auckland. This job has not only provided her with financial stability but has also offered her valuable insights into the culture and people of New Zealand. Through her work, she has gained a deeper understanding of the society she now calls home, which has enriched her overall experience.
Looking ahead, Gautami plans to practice law in New Zealand and is focused on becoming admitted to the Bar.
