Nasili chose the University of Auckland for its esteemed reputation and the opportunity to receive a high-quality education. "The chance to attend the top-ranked law school in Aotearoa, New Zealand, felt unreal," she says. Being the first in her fāmili (family) to attend university, Nasili felt a strong sense of responsibility to make the most of this opportunity and set a positive example for future generations. Additionally, the desire to stay close to her fāmili influenced her decision, as it allowed her to maintain the vā (the spatial and relational space) with her loved ones.

Nasili greatly appreciates the support and resources provided by the university, particularly from the FOLAU team and the Moana Oceania Student Advisors. She has also found the Moana Academia Oceania Initiative (MAI) invaluable, describing it as "nothing short of a lifesaver throughout my academic journey." These initiatives have fostered a strong sense of community and belonging, helping Nasili navigate the challenges of her academic journey.

In addition to her studies, Nasili has been actively involved in various activities. She has participated in the Pacific Island Law Student Association (PILSA) events and volunteered with The Malosi Project, facilitating moot competitions for high school students. These experiences have deepened her understanding of the legal profession and inspired her to give back to the community.

Looking ahead, Nasili plans to pursue a career in law, with a focus on family law, commercial law, or public policy. She believes that her conjoint degree provides her with a versatile skill set, combining legal and business knowledge, which will be invaluable in her future career.
