Programme Discontinuation

Programme discontinuation removes you from a degree, diploma or certificate you no longer wish to study. The programme will remain on your academic record.

How to discontinue a programme

Transferring to another programme

If you are discontinuing your programme to start a new one, you need to apply to have your courses reassigned to your new programme.

Once you are active in your new programme, a programme discontinuation can be requested at the same time as reassignment of courses. For instructions on how to reassign courses, visit Reassigning courses.

Please note that if you have not completed any enrolments in the programme, you may be eligible for a programme deletion. Programme deletion removes mention of the programme from your academic record.

For more information, visit Programme deletion.

Not transferring to another programme

If you are not transferring to another programme you must ensure that you have dropped all your enrolments in the programme you wish to discontinue.

For instructions on how to drop courses, see When to enrol and changing your enrolment.

If you missed the deadline for dropping courses, you should apply to withdraw from your courses. If you are experiencing exceptional circumstances, you may be eligible to apply for a late deletion.
