Programme overview
With a BA/BCom conjoint you can combine your core courses in business and enterprise with a wide range of subjects in the humanities, social sciences, cultures and languages.
You can develop skills that are essential for adapting and thriving in a fast-changing, globalised economy. You will be able to use your knowledge and skills in many different careers and employment settings.
Programme structure
The BA/BCom usually takes four years to complete.
You will need to complete a total of 540 points, consisting of:
- 255 points from BA courses
- 255 points from BCom courses
- 15 points Waipapa Taumata Rau core course
- 15 points from General Education course
You can choose up to two subjects as your major(s) for the BA component of your conjoint, and would normally take four or five BA courses each year. You can also choose to take up to two modules. To find out more about structuring the BA side of your study, see planning your BA conjoint.
There are six compulsory Stage I courses for the BCom component of your conjoint, after which you can focus on your chosen major(s). There are twelve majors in BCom component to choose from, however, students can't major in Management for the BCom component and Employment Relations and Organisation Studies major for BA component at the same time.
