Enrolment information
Prior to enrolment in a thesis, research portfolio, dissertation, or research project, you must complete a research methods course.
To enrol in your thesis, research portfolio, dissertation, or research project in Education or Social Work, you must first submit a PG-01 Statement of Research Intent (SoRI).
To complete the SoRI, you need to:
- Choose a research topic: Make sure the topic interests
you and fits your degree or specialisation. - Find a supervisor: Use Discovery Profiles to locate a supervisor with
similar interests. - Contact the supervisor: Introduce yourself via email
and outline your research plans. - Submit your SoRI: Once you and your supervisor agree on the topic, complete and submit the PG-01 Statement of Research Intent (SoRI).
It will then be tabled at the Postgraduate Research Approvals and Examinations sub-committee. For further information about the research component of your programme, please see Guide to Theses and Dissertations.
