"I am a publicist at MediaWorks. I am a part of the communications team, working to generate positive media coverage for our shows, talent and brand. This includes things like setting up interviews, arranging photo-shoots, pitching story ideas and building invaluable relationships with key NZ media contacts.

"I work on a range of popular TV shows, including Jono & Ben and 7 Days. No one day is the same — it's a fast-paced environment that allows me to do my two favourite things: writing and working with people.

"The University of Auckland afforded me some of the best years of my life. I got the chance to learn from some amazing lecturers at New Zealand's world-ranked tertiary institution.

"Whatever you decide to study — there's no right or wrong. You don't have to have it all planned out in your first year. Over the duration of my study the pieces fell into place for me, and I worked out which areas I liked and which areas I wasn't so fond of.

"As long as you are enjoying what you are studying, then you're on track for a fulfilling career."
