Architectural Design
ARCHDES 200 - Design 3
- Course prescription: The Domestic: Exploring those things both familiar and unfamiliar in our understanding of home, family, privacy, identity, and community. Examines both the most intimate and the most exposed aspects of dwelling. Emphasises the role of precedent in design and addresses scales ranging from the room to the block.

ARCHDES 201 - Design 4
- Course prescription: The Constructed: An introduction to full-scale architectural practice. Offers the opportunity to explore materials, construction, fabrication processes, and detailing. Requires students to understand the full range of drawings required to move from design concept to actual construction.

Architectural Media and Fabrication
ARCHDRC 203 - Architectural Media 3
- Course prescription: Explores the relationship between methods of architectural drawing and the three-dimensional communication of fabrication and assemblage. Central to this investigation is an understanding of how drawing is evolving in relation to new technologies.

Architectural History, Theory and Criticism
ARCHHTC 237 - Postmodern and Contemporary Architecture and Urbanism
- Course prescription: Examines architectural and urban history and theory from the postmodern to the recent and contemporary.

Architectural Technology and Sustainability
ARCHTECH 207 - Design Technology I
- Course prescription: Development of structural and construction principles and systems for small-scale and residential buildings. Characteristics and behaviour of common building materials. Building components and detailing. Outline of building codes, health and safety regulations and site operations. Active building services and technologies for residential housing, including heating, cooling, ventilation, water, waste, electrical services and vertical transportation. Application to design studio projects.

ARCHTECH 210 - Environmental Design 1
- Course prescription: Climate, context and energy consideration in buildings. Heat transfer and energy balances. Thermal comfort through passive solar systems, materials and building services in small-scale and residential buildings. Integrating renewable energy sources in building design. Indoor air quality and natural ventilation. Air-tightness and moisture control. Daylight performance of buildings and visual comfort. Behaviour of sound and noise and their control for human comfort.
