atu, Kia orana and a warm welcome to you from Mātauranga Hauora | Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.
Enrolling at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences will give you the opportunity to become part of the solution. Working with some of the world’s best teachers, researchers and healthcare professionals, we will provide you with the learning and real-world experience to gain the skills needed to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of people’s lives and to shape the future of healthcare.
With a shortage of healthcare professionals and scientists, now more than ever, our health workforce needs students like you who are ready to address today’s healthcare challenges. Students who are committed to addressing inequities, who can be adaptable, embrace new technology, advance health policy, learn cutting-edge biomedical science and lead innovative research that will transform the future of healthcare in our communities.
Our commitment is to enhance the health and wellbeing of our communities and address health inequity. Our priority is to grow and educate the future health professional workforce, population health specialists and biomedical scientists. We particularly encourage students who identify as Māori, or Pasifika and those from regional and rural communities in Aotearoa, to apply to study here at Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland.

Our population health, biomedical science and health professional programmes in Nursing, Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Medical Imaging, Optometry and Medicine are taught by world renowned academics and researchers. We take great pride in providing you with an excellent educational experience, offering professional, engaging teaching tailored to the evolving needs of the world. We currently have almost 6,000 students enrolled in our campuses across New Zealand and our undergraduate programmes have an emphasis on clinical experience where you can develop your confidence in supervised environments. You will get to learn in our world-class facilities, state-of-the-art teaching and research laboratories, lecture theatres, simulated hospital rooms and operating theatres, and have access to our specialist medical library and our Whakaaro Pai | Medical Sciences Learning Center.
