Course planning and enrolment

While you don't need to have your entire degree mapped out before you start, it's good to have an overall plan. This page will help you with programme requirements, timetabling, planning your degree, general education and enrolment.

Programme requirements

If you’re not sure about requirements, admission criteria or structure of your degree, follow the links below for information about the faculty’s undergraduate programmes.

Planning your degree

Further information about course requirements, degree planning, and timetabling can also be found on Student Services Online (SSO).

Planning your timetable

Once you have been admitted into your programme you will need to work out your timetable and enrol in those courses.

You should enrol as soon as possible as many courses are very popular and have a limited number of places available. For this reason, it is also recommended that you enrol in both Semester 1 and 2 courses at the beginning of the year.

To find your timetable or class schedule, log into Student Services Online.

General Education

If you are a new student studying an undergraduate degree with us in 2025 you will most likely need to complete one General Education course and one Waipapa Taumata Rau course.

General Education, also referred to as Gen Ed, enables you to learn about disciplines outside of your main field of study. This is a required component of all undergraduate degrees.

Enrolment

If you are a new student enrolling in a programme, use the link below to find out about enrolling in courses. If you are currently enrolled and would like to change your programme, apply on Student services Online.
