The Department of Ophthalmology contributes to teaching a range of both undergraduate and postgraduate medical and scientific programmes within the University of Auckland.

Scholarships and awards

The MacKenzie Medal is a highly prized award that has been awarded since 2004 for 'Early Excellence in Eye Research' - to recognise the significant contribution of a medical student, trainee intern or house officer towards a research project which has reached publication status during the year of the award.
