The Department of Paediatrics: Child and Youth Health teaches modules within the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) programmes as both core and elective options.
MBChB Phase One
Paediatrics is offered as the Human Early Life Development - Integrated Learning Activity (HELD-ILA) module for Phase One of the MBChB programme. This is a year-long module.

MBChB Phase Two
- MBChB 501A/B: Part V. Paediatrics is offered as a module within this course.
As part of your Year V attachment you will also complete a clinical course on Neonatology through the myNeonates support website.
MBChB Phase Three
- MBChB 551 A/B: Part VI: Paediatrics is offered as research elective modules. We seek to provide research elective opportunities which enable year 6 students to work together with other year 6 students and several departmental academic staff on projects that provide students with a broad research experience and the opportunity to participate in the presentation and publication of their research.
